4) Insight: Becoming a professional in Bolted Joints (Nuts and Bolts)
On November 15-17, HARDLOCK Industry conducted an online seminar on “Fundamentals of Threaded Metal Connections” targeted at Egyptian professionals with the help of AOTS. In this issue, we will review feedback and results of the seminar.
For the 3 days the seminar was held, there was a low dropout rate with more than 100 participants joining in on our seminar every day and viewing to the end. A splendid show up. The seminar was divided into two parts. The first and second days were focused on learning fundamental concepts and in turn Easy-to-understand explanations were provided. Professor from Tokyo Metropolitan University, Dr. Hareyama who lectured the first 2 days mentioned that he has lectured at the most 20 to 40 professionals in Japan, and that it was his first time to lecture to more than 100 attendees. With the large number of chat comments and questions we received, Dr. Hareyama was very impressed by the positive and enthusiastic attitude of the students and how they were so eager to learn.
The third day went into depth to explain the Japanese Only One, Bolt locking technology the “HARDLOCK Nut”.On the ground Case studies showing the details and pictures of product adaption, helped participants get a grasp on the practicality of HARDLOCK nut and the fundamental concepts required to get the benefits.
In a post-seminar survey, more than 85% of the participants answered “interesting,” and nearly 90% of them said they would like to try using HARDLOCK Nut immediately or in the future. In addition, HARDLOCK Industry has received various other requests, inquiries and offers, all of which we plan to carefully respond to.
To be honest, even we were surprised that such a rudimentary component such as the bolted joint would draw so much interest for a seminar targeted in Egypt. We consider it a great honor that we were able to contribute in some small way to the understanding and adoption of correct bolted joint design and technology to Egypt.
