When he happens to become the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia, the narrative that will be born is “there is no end for the fighting soldier”. Never stop struggling for warriors. But if He loses, people will never hesitate to say “this is an example of a person who is hungry for powers”.
For most of us will have never understood, what he said, “to save Indonesia”, when He accepted the offer as Minister of defense of the Republic of Indonesia, after all-out fighting with Jokowi, as his rival in the last 2019 Presidential Election. But on the top of all those was that the idealism of this party, as he campaigned for, was mortgaged when the deal accepted the offer of the position as Minister of defense of the Republic of Indonesia.
The mystery that lies within him has never been known who Prabowo is. Economically, he is among the top richest people. Careers in the military, including successful ones. Gait in politics, he is one who is behind the wall, as the kingmaker. But apparently, the position of President is a way of completing self-fulfilling actualization.

Lt. Gen. TNI (Ret.) H. Prabowo Subianto Djojohadikusumo (born 17 October 1951) is an Indonesian politician, businessman, and high rank in the military. He attended 28 years of education and a military career before becoming involved in business and politics. On 23 October 2019, Prabowo was sworn in as the 26th Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet for the period 2019 to 2024.[2]
As the General Chair of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto along with Hatta Rajasa, ran as a candidate for the 7th President of Indonesia in the 2014 general election but was surpassed by the pair Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla. He again ran for president in the 2019 Indonesian presidential election, paired with Sandiaga Uno.
Born in Jakarta, Prabowo’s childhood as the son of economist Soemitro Djojohadikoesoemo was spent abroad with his parents. His interest in the military was influenced by his uncle, Soebianto Djojohadikusumo, who died in the Battle of Lengkong.
After graduating from the Military Academy in Magelang in 1974 as a second lieutenant, he became one of the youngest operations commanders in Army history while leading the operations of Team Nanggala in East Timor. His career skyrocketed after serving as Deputy Commander of the Counter-Terrorism Detachment at the Special Forces Command in 1983. In 1996, Prabowo was appointed as Commander General of the corps. While in office, he led the hostage release operation in Mapenduma. When the fall of President Suharto, his father-in-law, in May 1998, Prabowo was serving as Commander of the Strategic Reserve Command.
After being discharged from military service, Prabowo spent his time in Jordan and in several European countries. Upon his return to Indonesia, he pursued the business world, following in the footsteps of his younger brother Hashim Djojohadikusumo who was a conglomerate. Prabowo’s business includes at least 27 companies operating in different sectors. In 2008, he founded the Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra). In addition, he is also active as chairman of the Indonesian Farmers Harmony Association and the Indonesian Pencak Silat Association.
